20th Annual Love Run

Help Princess Anne High School, Frank W. Cox High School and Floyd E. Kellam High School spread the love for Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters!

Join us for a virtual and in-person charity 5K Run/Walk to benefit CHKD on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 9am at Thalia Elementary School.

Love Run started in 2004, when Princess Anne High School’s SCA president was diagnosed with cancer and was admitted to CHKD (Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters) for treatment.  After he was discharged from CHKD, he wanted to give back to the amazing staff that helped him through his illness.  He did this by starting Love Run, a 5 kilometer race whose main purpose is to raise money for CHKD.  Since then, Princess Anne has held the race every year in order to benefit the amazing staff and patients at CHKD. In 2013, the run was dedicated to baby Jack Shumate, the son of Cox High School’s SCA adviser, who was taken away too early. CHKD and its wonderful staff were there to help Jack and his family every step of the way. Many families have been kept afloat financially and countless children have been treated through the helping hands of CHKD.  We hope you will join us in this year’s Love Run, and help touch the hearts of families everywhere!
