Treat yourself, and CHKD, at Mid Atlantic Dairy Queen!

Treat yourself at Mid Atlantic Dairy Queen and help Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) light the way to better mental health care for kids.

The need for additional pediatric mental health services is putting pressure on our schools, our families, and every aspect of our region’s medical system. Mental health conditions are the most common reason local youths ages 10 through 17 are admitted to hospitals. And more than one-third of visits to primary care pediatricians are for mental health concerns.

The time has come and the responsibility is ours to provide the mental health services our children need.

Right now, on CHKD’s Norfolk campus we are building hope in the form of a 14-story, $224 million mental health hospital and outpatient center for children. This extraordinary facility will open this year with 60 private patient rooms and space for programs that address specific gaps in mental health care in our region.

But, we can’t do this alone.

In 2020, Mid Atlantic Dairy Queen made a commitment to CHKD’s mental health initiative. They made a commitment to ask every customer to round up, to donate $1 from every Blizzard sold on Miracle Treat Day, and participate in Free Cone Day, where they’ll dip cones for donations, all for CHKD.

Join Mid Atlantic Dairy Queen as they fulfill their $5 million commitment to help CHKD light the way. Visit to find a location near you.
