Dairy Queen Helps Change Kids’ Health at CHKD on Miracle Treat Day – July 25

The DQ Brand is helping change kids’ health and bringing hope at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD), a member hospital of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. CHKD wants to ensure the children in our community can lead healthy, fulfilling lives. But, they can’t do it alone.

On Miracle Treat Day, Thursday, July 25, participating DQ locations are giving back to positively change the health of children in our community. $1 from every Blizzard Treat sold at participating DQ locations will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Through these donations, CHKD can provide treatments and support patients desperately need today, so they can fulfill their potential for tomorrow.

Children like Bennett who was born with a rare genetic condition called congenital myopathy and low muscle tone which require him to use a wheelchair and ventilator. Bennett spent 6 months at CHKD, his local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, after he was born, and has needed multiple surgeries and lifesaving care at CHKD’s pediatric intensive care unit. Bennett’s mom is so appreciative of how Bennett’s doctors and specialists communicate and collaborate to provide the complex care her son needs. She said, “I just feel like everyone is on the same team and working to do what’s best for Bennett.”

The DQ brand has been a proud partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for 40 years and has raised more than $2.5 million locally for CHKD. Their support has brought joy and hope to kids treated at CHKD.

Recently, Mid Atlantic Dairy Queen, a collection of 15 local Dairy Queen locations, made a $5 million commitment to CHKD’s mental health initiative. Funds raised at participating locations on Miracle Treat Day and through rounding up your purchase all year long support this pledge.

Children’s hospitals are on the frontlines when it comes to protecting the health of future generations and DQ locations nationwide want to help them foster the business owners, creators and leaders of tomorrow. Thanks to your support, this will continue to create a ripple effect to change kids’ health to change the future in our community for years to come.
