CHKD launches Family Nutrition Program thanks to Rite Aid
On Wednesday, January 31, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters launched its CHKD Family Nutrition Program – our response to food insecurity in our community – thanks to a generous grant from Rite Aid.
The grant will allow CHKD to provide food bags containing nutritious, shelf stable foods and to patients and families who experience food insecurity.
Food provided includes proteins, grains and vegetables that can be combined to make nutritious meals, meal passes, educational materials on shopping within a budget and recipe ideas, as well as community resources.
The program allows CHKD to contribute to the nutritional wellbeing of our patients and families.
